A beachy, brightly, boldly colored painting by Michelle Renee Bernard. Inspired by my youthful summer weekends at the beach, boardwalk, carnivals and fairs. Especially Asbury Park, NJ, and the Palace Amusements center. Tillie art. Asbury art.

I usually don’t name my paintings until after they’re “born” but sometimes a title is so good you have to build your art around it. "Ferris Wheeler’s Day Off" is the title of this piece and came long before I even dreamed of what it would be. Eventually it evolved into a painting about what the guy who runs the ferris wheel does on his day off. And I’m happy to report that I've seen, done, had, played, won, rode or eaten every single thing in this painting!

Inspired by many, many summer weekends at the boardwalk and Palace Amusements in Asbury Park, New Jersey… as well as countless other local fairs and carnivals.
