A combination of so many of my favorite things… an oversized Tillie head (from the Asbury Park, NJ Palace Amusements building), fun colors, vintage collage elements, and bold, graphic, carnival-style text. This piece actually started out as a fire breathing dragon, and if you turn the painting a quarter turn counter-clockwise, you can still see the dragon’s horns above Tillie’s ear. I painted over him but sanded back through the final painting to reveal some of his personality and to add to the worn, aged look of the piece.

P.S. I couldn’t decide if Tillie was a fire-breather or if he ate too much candy then went on too many rides. So I figured I’d leave it up to your imagination, and you can decide for yourself!
